Hemming (1967) stated:-

The taxon represented by the nominal species Hesperia metacomet is currently treated subjectively on taxonomic grounds as being the same as that represented by the older-established alp nominal species Hesperia (?) vestris Boisduval, 1852 (Ann. Soc. ent. Fr. (2) 10 : 317).

Euphyes Scudder, 1872, was designated as a valid genus and brought out of synonymy by Shuey, 1987, Annals of the Entomological Society of America 80 (5) : 588. [Hemming, 1967 treated also treated Euphyes as a valid genus].
