E. hepararia is a junior subjective synonym of Phalaena nebulata Scopoli, 1763, Ent. Carniolica: 215.
Incorrect type-species: Phalaena obliterata Hufnagel, 1767, (cited as obliterata Hübner, an incorrect authorship), a name not originally included in Euchoeca, and not linked with one of the originally included names when designated by Hulst, 1896, Trans. Am. ent. Soc. 23: 274. Phalaena nebulata Scopoli, 1763, Ent. Carniolica: 215, a name not originally included in Euchoeca, and not linked with one of the originally included names when designated by Lhomme, 1927, Amat. Papillons 3: 221; by Derenne-Meyers, 1929, Faune de la Belg. (Classification des Géométrides): 52; and by Lhomme, [1931] 1923-1935, Cat. Lepid. Fr. et Belg. 1: 523.

Parsons et al. (1999) included 2 species in the genus EUCHOECA.
