Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:-

Eschatotypa was included in the "Lyonetiadae" by Fletcher, 1929, Mem. Dep. Agric. India (Ent.) 11: 85; it was placed in the Tineidae on the advice of our colleague Dr G.S. Robinson.

Robinson (2001) included 3 species in the genus.
