Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

Eschata was established in the Noctuidae; it was placed in the Pyralidae by Moore, 1888, in Hewitson & Moore Descr. new Indian lepid. Insects Colln late Mr W.S. Atkinson (3): 227.

ESCHATA was included within the subfamily CRAMBIDAE: CRAMBINAE by Munroe & Solis, in Kristensen (1999).
