Nye (1975) stated:-

P. tarassota was proposed as the objective replacement name for Plusia confusa Moore, 1882, in Hewitson & Moore, Descr. new Indian lepid. Insects Colln late Mr W.S. Atkinson: 149, a junior primary homonym of Plusia confusa Stephens, 1850.

Poole (1989) included ACANTHOPLUSIA Dufay, 1970; and CTENOPLUSIA Dufay, 1970 as junior synonyms of AGRAPHA Hübner, 1821.
