Eremobia was also proposed by Stephens, 1829, September, Illust. Br. Ent. Haustellata 3: 94.

Poole (1989) included EREMOBIA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (1999).

Poole (1989) included 5 species in the genus EREMOBIA.
