Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

When established in the key, the generic name was published as * Erota a spelling that has not been used subsequently. In the generic heading and the original combination of the type-species the generic name was published as Ercta, the spelling used by subsequent authors and adopted in this catalogue as the correct original spelling.

Shaffer (pers. comm.) treats ERCTA in the CRAMBIDAE: SPILOMELINAE.
