Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:-

E. sanctaejohannis was proposed as * Stae.Johannis which under the Code, Article 26(d), must be written in full and both words united. E.sanctaejohannis was first known as * E. sti.Johannis Stephens, 1850, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus. 5: 312, a nomen nudum based on the same species as E. sanctaejohannis Walker but described only as `an exquisitely beautiful nondescript species of Eudryas'.

Epithisanotia in the Agaristidae is cited here as it was not included in Nye, 1975, Generic Names Moths World 1.
