Syntypes - 4, both sexes AUSTRALIA: Queensland, Duaringa, (BMNH, London)..

Fletcher (1979) stated:-

E. oxycyma is currently treated as a subspecies of Hypochroma nelearia Guenée, 1857, in Boisduval & Guenée, Hist. nat. Insectes (Spec. gén. Lépid.) 9: 279.
