I brought this ice age bone from a local fossil shop where it was sold as a Bison toebone but I am beginning to think it is from a horse. Please can someone help solve this mystery.
You are quite right this is from a horse. Bison are ungulates and have two toes one on each side of the hoof, the bones are not symetrical but mirrors of each other. In a horse there is one toe so the bones are symetrical.
Thank you for your quick response. I had my suspicions that it wasn't from a Bison.
