Found Fossil on Beach, Identification help

Found on beach West Coast of Scotland

Embeded in looks like  Grey Kidney Ore

    Viking,

     

    At the moment it looks like a concretion of the septarian nodule type (the radiating cracks), nucleated on something that might be a fossil.

    In order to progress past that, we really need an in-focus photo...

     

    Also:

     

    Was this the only such piece, or is this just one of several?

    If several, what similarities and what differences are there between the other pieces and the one you photographed? (Do you have any photos of the others?)

     

    Was it in situ, or loose on the beach itself?

    If in situ, please tell us more about the location.
