Any idea on this bee that lives in a hole please? Last year we discovered we had ashy mining bees, but this one has not been observed before. (there was a neighbouring hole a couple of inches away - same bee or a neighbour?
Have answered the 2nd part of the question - as i was taking another picture of the bee in the whole - another one flew out of the other whole!
This looks like a type of mining bee (family Andrenidae). Check out this page on Andrena clarkella - it looks like a female of this species or something similar..
