Hey guys, so this little critter was found in Cpounty Durham, ph of around 8.4, I'm pretty sure they're larvae of some kind, any help would be great.
Something like that, Bigman. This specimen does not have the thoracic bulge, however.
There are other types of invertebrate that have aquatic larvae, such as craneflies (perhaps not British ones?) and flies, eg. Clogmia albipunctata - http://www.flickr.com/photos/entomopixel/8025384467/ (and adult - http://www.flickr.com/photos/entomopixel/8025281723/in/photostream/). That species is too small, however.
More suggestions needed...
