Help with fossil - claw or tooth?

Hello, This fossil was found in limestone matrix in the Arizona sonoran desert at 2600 feet. Please help me identify. It has a ridge on one side and also what appears to be a root hole in the top. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry but I think it's just a rock.

      Jamie,

I, too, suspect it is just a lump of rock.

But I would be happy to look at further photos, as Tabfish asks.

Also, you say it was in a limestone matrix...

      - Were there other pieces like this or was it the only one?

      - How easily did it come out from the limestone matrix (it seems to be evenly weathered)?

      - What is it made of (sandstone/siltstone/limestone/etc.) If limestone, how does it differ from the limestone matrix that surrounded it?

      Mike
