"Yeti bone"

A Bhutanese friend of mine took these pictures in a remote mountain home in the Merak Sakten region, at an altitude of about 3,300metres. He noticed this object on the family altar. The family believe it is fossilised  yeti bone (the yeti is regarded as a reality by many people in Merak Sakten).

Does anyone know what it might be? I promised my friend I'd try to find out for him, and we'd both be really interested to know what it is.

Thank you!

Hi, I think it is an elephant tooth.

I agree, your find looks like a tooth or either an elephant or it could possible be that of a mammoth as they look remarkably similar! Here is an image by Cuvier where he shows the similarities between the Asian elephant (top image) and a wooly mammoth (bottom image)
