I found this about 10 years ago on a beach in Northern Ireland renowned for fossils. Does it look like a possible fossil?
My instinct tells me that its a stone, albeit a happy looking one.
Can you post images from different angles in case we are missing something?
I'm also leaning strongly towards 'just a stone', but before being more committal, let me ask something.
You say the beach is renowned for its fossils. What type(s) of fossils in particular?
Mostly ammonites and such I believe.
Thanks. Well, if there are no large vertebrate fossils, and without being able to look at it under a microscope, I'm inclined to agree with bombuslucorum in it being just a stone. Let's call it a humorous bone instead of a humerus bone:)
