I am curious to know if these are bits of fossilised wood or vegetation? It is also possible they are just layered rocks, but the vertical ridges running down the sides are unusual.
Found along the Lyme Regis coast.
Lurty, best I can do is 'could be'. Fossilized wood certainly occurs in the area, and a common type, Calamites, looks a little like yours. It is not the only possibility.
In case you have not found it, since you clearly have an interest in rocks and fossils, have a browse at http://lymeregismuseum.blogspot.com/search/label/Fossils.
Thanks Mike for your suggestions! These pieces are so small that its possible they are broken sections of calamites as you mentioned.
