bugs in my living room

Hi guys, thanks for this site, looks like it could be really useful.

I have noticed over the last few days a number of these bugs (photos below) crawling around my living room and doorway of the kitchen.  I reckon they can't walk on the smooth kitchen floor as they always seem to be around the door and/or upside down!  Anyway, I must have killed around 40 now and am wondering what they are, where they come from and how I can get rid of them.  I did wonder if they were eggs on the Christmas tree that have now hatched so I got rid of that this evening and vacuumed thoroughly.  They only seem to be on the floor or on very low level things.

I should also say they are around 5 to 7 mm long and have two little 'horns' or 'bumps' on their backs (see bottom photo).

If anyone can help I'd be very grateful as I've spent quite a bit of time on google and found nothing.

Those are surely some kind of aphids (Insecta - Hemiptera - Aphididae).

    Possible Genera:

    - Cinara (known for their habit of infestating christmas trees, can't find a satisfying species match)

    - Aphis (wide Genus with a relatively large variety of aspects among the species, no satisfying match either)
