New Type of Mite - Please Identify & Help!

I had a problem two days before the New Year - I was tidying up my kitchen cupboard, and took out a wooden tray, and left it on the table. Later on, I found quite a lot of some type of tiny mites residing on it.

To my horror, as I started to tidy up the cupboard, I took out a bamboo tray, which was about five years old, and I saw the same mites on the tray! I had a feeing that it was nibbling on the bamboo and wood, as per the last picture, but I wasn't so sure, so they probably aren't dust mites? At the beginning, I thought they were woodworms, but pictures of woodworms were different. However, bamboo mites got be a similar picture, but I still wasn't too sure. My sixth sense told me it was some type of bamboo mite, however.

There are so few pictures of this on Google, and I think it is because it doesn't occur frequently in the UK. Global trade probably 'imported' it from the Far Eat/Asia. I hope my guesses are wrong - they are so hard to kill! I have been cleaning all of the affected areas for two days, all the way till TWO AM, but I still see them on my kitchen walls, as well as surfaces.

I have a new kitchen, less than a year old, and as far as I'm aware, I didn't notice this problem before I took out the wooden tray.

Can anybody tell me if there are any types of chemicals that can treat this type of mite, and is this a new type of woodworm? I found another topic with a similar mite:
