Snail with shell in the shape of a tree leaf bud

I found today sitting on a knot of growth in a tree, a tiny snail, its shell in the shape of a winter bud, coloured and shaped just right - it was a stroke of luck to have found it. I have never seen a snail like this before, are they common? or rare? have they a name? are there many varieties of snail like this for different tree / bud types?

Thanks for your help,

R
