Spider found in bath

Sorry no pic, as I was in a hurry getting ready for work, but maybe someone can help narrow down the search?

It was smaller than the usual house spiders that often seem to land in the bath, about 1 cm long, including the legs, which were quite short and thick in proportion.  It was clearly a male, with club shaped palps.  The body (or maybe only the abdomen) was off-white and the abdomen roughly egg-shaped.  The legs were a rich brownish red, almost mahogany.
