These are spider beetles, mostly Gibbium psylloides, but at least one example of a Ptinus species also. They feed on a variety of organic material including feathers, furs and dried foods. Have a look around and see if you can locate the source of the infestation. If nothing is obvious it may be abandoned birds nests or wasps nests in roof spaces.
That's great thank you i wasn't sure if they were vine beetles but there is a birds nest on the outside air conditioning unit so they must be creeping into the house from there. Will get rid of the birds nest and all should be ok
