Hoverfly id

I'm fairly sure this is an Eristalis hoverfly but is there enough here to identify the species? .... very common this week here (Sheffield) on Hogweed and Angelica ... my guess is Eristalis interruptus

    Hi Alan,

A new boy to this site and I agree it is an Eristalis hoverfly but i suggest the species is more likely recognisable as Eristalis arbustorum. Hope this helps.

Only the configuration of the markings on the abdomen. Check images on the internet for said hoverfly...and all may be visually obvious. Thats assuming that images of said hoverfly are to be believed. Regards.
