Can someone help identify this small red bug?

I have been finding many of these everyday and it is increasingly more common now.

They seem to come in a few different sizes, from extrememly tiny red pin head size to the size of a small rivet.   If you apporach them or try to catpure one they run fast and I think they can jump.  I tried to get one to send to a lab to find out what they are.

I live in Taiwan, but not sure if this is native to Taiwan or if it came over on something and made it's home in our house and started breeding.

They are red, fast and I found the hole they are coming out of us, it is a crack in our molding between the door frame, wall and tile.  Our house is a concrete building, the only wood is a door frame.

So my guess is, these are some type of ant or spider or possibly some sort of wood eating bug, I don't know.

Let me know if you guys can help.  Attached is a picture, it is very hard to get a clear picture as these things are really small and my macro can only get so close.
