I've been wandering among the sand dunes on the Duddon Estuary in Cumbria and came across these two plants. I've tried to identify them by looking at various websites but can't find any relevant pictures. I've just moved to the area and am trying to learn about what I am looking at :-)
The upper two is an Eryngium sp. In Sweden we only have Eryngium maritimum, but I think you might have some other species in Britain as well (It's too early in the morning - it was a late night yesterday - to check). The lower is an Allium sp.
Thank you for that. I've done a bit more searching and can now see that the first two are indeed Eryngium Maritimum (Sea Holly) and that the third one is Allium Vineale (Wild Onion or Crow Garlic). Most helpful, thanks.
