Hello I am new to this forum.
I am trying to identify a whole bunch of butterflies and beetles that my father inherited years ago from his uncle.
The case is about 80 years old and his uncle travelled around quite a bit, was killed in the first world war.
Any help on figuring out what these bugs are, would be very much appreciated.
I have attactched the photos
The beetles belong to the family Scarabaeidae.
It seems to be from Africa (at least partially) as I think I can recognise Junonia hierta in the center of box 2 together with Junonia orithya.
Or from India? In addition to the blue pansy (Junonia orithya) I can see the common tiger (Danaus genutia), peacock pansy (Junonia almana), and great eggfly/blue moon butterfly (both males and females, Hypolimnas bolina) in each box.
