Can anyone identify this spider? it appears to have 16 legs, is not a shadow.
is it a freek of nature?
Err, it's a shadow. (If it really has 16 legs it's rather strange that each leg meets its 'mate' at the point where it touches the surface.)
Looks like a Tegenaria (house spider)
Trust me its not a shadow ! The legs are double jointed at the first joint from the body. Its a bad image I know but I can blow it up better on my phone
Is it possible that it is moulting to grow? The second set of legs would be the skin remaining associated with the body as it is shed.
