Hi, A friend asked if I could identify this ?tipula photographed in Hainault Forest, Essex a couple of days ago. It eludes me, I have spent hours on www photos. Some tipula have patterns and shaded cells but nothing like this. Also black markings on legs. Is it a fake or joke?

Help me please. Thanks.

    Re: Tipula

I've heard of Limonia annulata with a wing pattern referred to as 'oscillated' or 'bull's eye'. Similar, though yours is an amazing find!

n.b.Can anyone confirm this species has not entered the UK yet? Apparently its not uk based but immigration is always there.
