I'm not really sure if anyone is interested in this sort of thing, but today (23rd Feb) I saw my first Red Admiral of the year. It was in absolutely pristine condition as well. The location was the Pole Hill Garden Center, Badgers Mount Sevenoaks TN14 7AD
I assume that the meeting took place in the open and not in a covered area. What was the temperature on that day , I ask because the weather has been so up and down lately. The b'fly may have emerged from a sheltered area either in-doors or out because of a sudden temp. change. Anyway, you were lucky to see a pristine Red Admiral so early inthe year. Cheers.
