I came across these two strange caterpillars and have had no luck identifying them on the internet, if anyone could help that would be great!
This was found at the Kuangsi Waterfall Park, Luang Prabang in Laos.
This was found in Accra, Ghana.
If anyone could help that would be amazing, this has been driving me mad!
I have found this link on the internet:
it looks very similar to the one found in Laos, but this one was found in Malaysia so I am wondering if it is a Southeast Asian caterpillar?
It certainly looks like same species to me, but i have no idea what it is. I have forwarded your enquiry to one of our experts, so please keep an eye on this thread in case someone finds an ID for these two.
One of our moth experts has identified the first caterpillar as Olene mendosa, which is a well known agricultural pest in South East Asia.
The second moth belongs to the family Limacodidae, but our experts were not able to identify it to species.
I hope this information is useful!
