Definitely one of our 'False Widows'. Steatoda grossa I think, but I am pretty unreliable when it comes to separating bipunctata, noblis and grossa as many of my previous posts will testify. I am sure someone will help me out if i'm wrong though.
Thanks for the identification, that one's lived in my house for at least a year, lurking in the cupboard that houses the gas meter.
I managed to catch it and release it into the garage a couple of days ago, dubbed 'Spider Garage' because of all the frequent releases. Mostly it's been the normal, but rather large house spiders, I did see a woodlouse eating spider in the same cupboard once, but that's not been seen since.
