help please help me id this spider.

please can someone identify this spider. is it a false widow or something else? i seem to have a lot of these around and it has a strange tunnel web that it stays in during the day

    Yes ,you are right and this is a 'False Widow'. Probably Steatoda noblis although the as you say large size may indicate Steatoda grossa. People are rarely bitten by spiders but if picked up clumsily or squashed against the skin the 'False Widows' can give you a fair bite. But as with most spiders they don't go looking for a fight and tend to be rather shy at most times.
