This moth was photographed today in my garden in Reading, I think it is Amblyptilia acanthadactyla?
Correct! This is one of two species of Amblyptilia distributed in the UK, the other being A.punctidactyla. There is a nice set of information for this species in this page from the UK moths website http://ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=3884.
Thanks, the NBN distribution is a bit patchy in the S.E for this moth, although the information does say it's more frequent in gardens so it looks like it's spreading inwards!
