The attached photo is of a white flower photographed on a N Scottish roadside between Culbokie and Alness. Taken by my brother-in-law 2 days ago. Sadly no other info. We think it may be a garden escapee. Any suggestions gratefully received.
I think I've found it - Hogweed (Heraclium sphondylium). Anyone agree?
yes! I'm sure you're right and its Hogweed (Heracleum sphondylium) - I can just about make out the foliage in the background - its a lot less divided than many members of the carrot family and there are few other things this size with the larger more obvious flowers around the edge of the umbel.
