A great photo, such a beautiful moth! I was really curious about what this might be, could it be a tortrix moth? maybe a carnation tortrix (Cacoecimorpha pronubana) or a large fruit tree trotrix (Archips podana)?
Sorry for not replying to you earlier but I haven't logged in recently and I don't seem to have received and email alert.
Yesterday I was looking at a website to try to identify another moth and found a photo of a large fruit tree trotrix (Archips podana), which looked almost exactly like mine. I am therefore pretty sure that this is what it is. It's a bit worrying - we've got fruit trees and apparently the larvae eat everything including the fruit!
