Answered as far as poss - petrified wood?

This came from same creek too.

    Have you got a picture of the inner section, i.e to see if there are rings etc. It does look like wood, is it solid?

      These could also be shatter cones, produced by the compression of limestone. So in this instance it could be a psuedofossil.

    It does look like wood but the weight is your guide to if its been fossilised or is just recent and sun-bleached. Is it as heavy as if it were made of stone?
