I have just bought a ladybird house as ive had loads in my garden this year. I looked around my garden to see if i could find any ladybords to intoduce to their new home and found one attached to the wall of my house. IT appears to be guarding some kind of cacoon. I dont believe its a ladybird egg as ive googled them and they dont look anything alike plus having read a little on ladyboirds it appears they lay eggs in numbers. The ladybird has not moved now for two days. I have gently blown the bug and it just huddles closer to the caccoon!
Does anyone know what this ladybord is guarding? Is it an egg? Why is it behaving this way?
