Last night I found the following bugs on the wall in my kitchen:
Small dark brown/black worm/larvae like bugs, about 0.5mm wide, about 5mm long.
Some were crawling along the walls (like a caterpillar i.e. arching back and sliding along, rather than with legs) and some were hanging from the celing on threads.
Please see video (sorry it's out of focus):
Please can anyone help to identify these and how to get rid of them? Are the dangerous i.e. o they bite/burrow in skin or can they infest my pets etc?
Thank you Nature Forever for your reply.
Unfortunately I already put all the larvae outside before I got your reply so can't get a photo, however, all that you would see is a sharper version of the video, there are no distinguishing features that I could see although they were very tiny.
I think you are right as we have had an unusual amount of moths around this season, especially the small brown moths.
I don't know what they were feeding on as they were mostly on the kitchen window sil (ceramic tile), window (pvc double glazing) and ceiling so I guess they hadn't made it to a food source yet?
Haven't seen anymore in the house since...
