This insect appeared in our sitting room a few weeks ago. I have been unable to identify it - and have to admit that it may not be a fly - though it seems to have only 1 pair of wings. Overall length 2.8 cm.
If anyone can help, I shall be very grateful.
Its another Cimbex sp. prob Cimbex connatus, which is a fantastic sawfly

I do not know what this fly is, it looks like a mosquito.
