Unusually Large Woodlouse

Found this woodlouse on the quay at Bamburgh last week (1st June). Overall length between 25mm and 30mm.

Is it a British native? What is it's name?

This is the common Sea Slater, Ligia oceanica, which is indeed a large woodlouse that is found on rocks an wharfs near the coast, it is common and widespread around the UK coastline.

We are just about to launch a 'seashore' forum to help with the identification of all things found/observed in/on this habitat - so watch this space.
