I'm... 50/50 with a love hate relationship with spiders, I bought a cacti home from my allotment/greenhouse to find a hitchiker, got about 5 spiders in my home (That I know of) and don't mind them, but this particular spider i've seen outdoors alot and not so keen on it, anyone have a clue? He was enjoying hideing under a pot in the greenhouse.
Appears to have 6 orange spots on its back (and many smaller ones)
Any idea's on what it is? I'd rather leave it if its only interested in flys, but its leaving if its a biter?
Also your answers may make me less scared when I come accross them whilst gardening, or more!
Looks like it could be a walnut orb-weaver (Nucteana umbratica):
If it is, they are rarely seen during the daytime and usually keep out of sight.

Ah great going from the info this is my spider thank you, their feature of a slim body to fit in cracks is the reason I dislike this spider, tend to jump out at you from holes other spiders would avoid, they also look quite evil! Hehe.
Lifted up my cacti pot to check if any roots were growing out the bottom, so, so glad he didnt fall as when I focused he was in inch from my face, I dont think he's got the housespider position though, i'll release him outdoors again
