I found this rock on a beach in Kent and I believe it to be a fossil of some sort. Maybe a turtle? Identification of it would be great.
It is a sea urchin fossil - an echinoid - preserved as flint. This would have come out of the chalk at some stage.
Echinoids are composed of 5-sided plates, arranged in rows.
I think the little cap on top maybe something different.
Near complete (fossil sea urchin) Echinoid! Well done.
