My 7 year old daughter found this rather strange tooth while digging in our back garden - can someone help identify it?
This is a lower first incisor (front tooth) of a herbivore. The hole in the root end indicates it is a milk tooth. Here is a set of Roe deer milk front teeth to compare
The roe deer teeth are about 2cm long where as your is almost 4cm, so yours is from a bigger animal. Even red deer adult inscisors are only 2.8cm so i think that your tooth is probably from a calf.
