ID if possible

This was commented on by a lady we stopped to chat to on the walk up to Grwyne Fawr Reservoir in the Black Mountains.  She said she hadn't seen a white thistle before.  My main flower book (by Marjorie Blamey) doesn't have a white thistle, so I'm stuck for a name.  None of the thistles in that book have leaves as thin and spikey as the ones in these images.

A suggestion that needs confirmation.

Googling images of thistles I found a reference (http://cabinetofcuriosities-greenfingers.blogspot.co.uk/2009_07_01_archive.html) to "the strange case of the white-flowered marsh thistle".  Blamey does say that the marsh thistle is "more frequently white than other species".  Is this a Marsh Thistle?
