I found these translucent blobs on the beach in south east Kent on 23 July 2014 can anyone tell me what they are? I suspect some sort of egg but don't know what?
They are the decomposing remains of jelly fish.
Looking like 'sea gooseberries' to me:
These'll be Pleurobrachia pileus, a member of the Phylum ctenophora. See eg http://natureinfocus.wordpress.com/2011/07/24/sea-gooseberries-at-rhossili/
