Could somebody please help identify the insect within the attached image. It was discovered in the morning under an exterior light which had been left on all night (so was presumably attracted to the light) outside a house on the Ile de Re in France. It measured approximately 3 cm in length and had 2 curved front 'feelers' which it raised itself up on, extended its rear-end and let out a low rasping noise in an aggressive manner. This it did when it was being moved into a nearby bush in order to prevent it being trampled on by children. A local thought it to be a 'grillon', however, grillons apparently don't fly whereas this had a set of what appeared to be fully functioning wings. Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks!
