Shark identification

Can anyone identify this shark by it's fins? It was caught by a Japanese offshore long liner today in temperate pacific waters and measures around 3m head to tail.

Sharks are landed headless making ID hard. The upper tail fin was also cut meaning it might have been very long. Blueish grey color with mottled white belly.

Thank you!

I would consider thresher, it typically has av ery long tail with a very broad muscular base, as in this specimen. Furthermore the pectoral fins are long, again as on this specimen.
