Found this today on the Severn estury. The tide was out, it was found just below a pile of seaweed. It had a soft seaweed feel to it.
Hi Steve, thanks for your reply. The egg shape was very soft and had a semi transparent appearance. When I found it it was just below the rocks and laying on the floor, it felt like seaweed bubble, slightly squishy. No hard shell at all. I found it between Cardiff and newport on the Severn estuary. Hope this helps.
I cannot understand the pointed end, in my experience marine fish excluding the shark family lay round eggs, its possible its a Turtle egg but the shape to me is wrong, did the shell feel soft and leathery
