Hello All ! This spider was found and photographed by a friend in Cyprus (the island in the Mediterranean) a few days ago. Ot was only about 0.5 cm long. Was thought to be a false widow spider but then suggested as a species of trapdoor spider (although no official record of a trapdoor spider species in Cyprus). Can anyone help with its ID? Any opinion is valuable !
Thanks jaguarondi. I think I am going to agree with you, the general appearance leads to Uroctea genera. Books say we only have Uroctea durandi in Cyprus, but the pattern on the abdomen does not fit..
