Hi theremy mother found hundreds of these bugs in the water tray for the pet rabbits she has outside. Any help identifying? p.s. closest thing to it I could find is a Pea weevil.
looks like a member of the family Hydraenidae, possibly genus Helophorus. These live in water bodies, but unlike diving beetles do not move very fast in water. This should be 3-5 mm in length.
